Garish?

I have been in the mood for BOLD BRIGHT colors lately. Maybe its because the weather is starting to get drab. But seriously, i am bordering on being overly gaudy and garish. And I think I love it.

My mirrors.

I could wax poetic.

It is definitely not for everyone, but it is definitely for me.

I started by sanding down some gigantic mirrors from the DI.

Then I painted them with some leftover house paint that i found in my garage.

and completed it with an antique black glaze over the top.

Next is this old cracked painting that I found at the DI. I thought it was so drab. The flowers blended in with the background which blended in with the gold frame. The picture i took of it actually looks better than it does in real life.

So i spiced it up. I may have spiced it up TOO much with the purple background. I maybe will fix that. Basically i went over it in oil paints using some glazing techniques. Nothing difficult, but it for sure stands out like the old painting didn't
